Connecting rods
Connecting rods (conrods) link the pistons to the crankshaft and have to withstand enormous forces in the process. In this collection you will find over two hundred sets by engine code: from the VW/Audi 1.8T, VW 1.9 TDI PD and BMW M52 to the Toyota 2JZ, Honda K20 and Subaru EJ20/EJ25. Sets are also available for motorcycles such as the Suzuki Hayabusa and Honda CBR.
Standard replacement or H-beam for more power?
For a regular rebuild, choose the connecting rod that matches your engine code and replace the big-end bearings at the same time. If you are tuning, the original rods are often the first weak link. Our forged H-beam connecting rods in 4340 steel with ARP 2000 bolts are built for increased boost pressure and high engine speeds — various sets are rated up to 800 hp. For some applications there are also I-beam versions, which are lighter and rev up more quickly. Always check the length (for example 144 mm for the 1.8T) and the pin diameter before ordering.
