From a steering rack for the BMW 5 Series E39 (32136751745) or Dacia Logan (8200902356) to a power steering pump for the Mercedes Sprinter, Opel Vivaro/Renault Master or Subaru Impreza, and adjustable tie rods for the Jeep Cherokee XJ and Wrangler JK with a lift kit.     Which steering part is worn?

    Play in the steering or a click when turning in usually points to tie rod ends or ball joints; a whining or groaning noise at full lock points to the power steering pump or a low fluid level; leakage and heavy steering point to the steering rack itself. With uneven tyre wear, always check the ball joints and tie rod ends first and have the wheel alignment re-adjusted after replacement.
