    Oil pumps

    The oil pump keeps the oil pressure up and with it every bearing, every camshaft and every turbo alive. In this collection you will find oil pumps by engine code — including for the VW/Audi 1.4 TSI, BMW 518d/520d (F10), Ford 2.0 EcoBlue, Peugeot/Citroën 1.6 HDi, Opel/Vauxhall 2.0 CDTi and Land Rover 2.7 TDV6 — supplemented by vacuum pumps for the braking system, secondary air pumps and electric coolant pumps for BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

    Oil pressure light on? Stop immediately

    Insufficient oil pressure destroys the crankshaft and big-end bearings within minutes. If the light comes on or flickers with a warm engine at low revs, switch the engine off and find the cause: a worn pump, blocked oil pick-up strainer or low oil level. When fitting a new pump, always replace the oil and filter, clean the sump and check the pick-up strainer. On engines with a chain-driven pump (such as the Mazda 2.2 diesel) it is wise to replace the drive chain and guides in the same job.
