Oil coolers & oil filter housings
Overheated engine oil loses its lubricating properties and ages extremely quickly. In this collection you will find universal aluminium oil cooler kits from 7 to 30 rows with AN10 fittings, complete with hoses, filter adapter or sandwich plate and often a built-in thermostat, alongside original replacement oil coolers and oil filter housings for BMW (E46/E90 series), Mercedes-Benz and VW/Audi, among others. Transmission oil coolers for automatic gearboxes are also available.
Which oil cooler should you choose?
For towing a caravan or spirited road use, a 10 to 16 row cooler is usually sufficient; for tuning and track work, choose 19 to 30 rows. Always go for a version with a thermostatic sandwich adapter: it only opens at around 73-83 °C, so the oil first reaches normal operating temperature — oil that is too cold is just as harmful as oil that is too hot. Mount the cooler in the airflow or combine it with an electric fan, and keep the hoses well away from the exhaust manifold. If an original cooler leaks internally (oil in the coolant), replace the oil filter housing gaskets at the same time.
