Air suspension compressors keep the air suspension system pressurised. Compressor pumping slowly? Find the leak first
A compressor that pumps slowly, runs scorching hot or keeps running endlessly is usually the victim of a leaking air spring: the constant topping up wrecks the piston ring and the desiccant cartridge. So do not just replace the compressor — trace the leaking air spring with soapy water as well and replace it in the same job, otherwise the new pump will be worn out again within a few months. Finally, check the relay: if it sticks, even a brand-new compressor will keep running until it burns out. Choose your compressor by OE number for a guaranteed fit.
