Only overheating in traffic jams?
If the engine cools down nicely on the motorway but the temperature rises in stationary traffic, the fan is not running (properly). First test whether the fan runs when connected directly to 12V: if so, the resistor or control module is the culprit — a much cheaper repair than a complete unit. When ordering, pay attention to the wattage (e.g. 240W or 360W), the number of blades and the number of pins on the connector.
