Complete turbo or just replace the CHRA?
If the shaft has noticeable play or the engine smokes blue, the bearings are worn. If the housings and blades are undamaged, a CHRA cartridge is often sufficient: cheaper, but the rebuild requires experience. In case of damage from a broken blade or oil contamination, choose a complete turbo. Always change the oil and filter when fitting and check the oil feed line, otherwise the new turbo will seize prematurely too. Boost pressure complaints without bearing play point to a faulty actuator or wastegate rather than the turbo itself.
