Engine running too cold or too hot?
A thermostat that sticks open prevents the engine from reaching operating temperature: a slow-warming heater, higher fuel consumption and often fault code P0128. If it sticks closed, the temperature rises quickly and you risk overheating and head gasket damage. Replace the thermostat in time and refresh the coolant while you are at it.
