Suspension creaking when you steer? Look at the top
A creaking noise when turning the steering wheel on the Clio and Twingo is almost always the upper strut bearing. Replace it together with the damper — the strut is out of the car anyway. Dull thumps over speed bumps point to control arm bushings or sway bar links, a droning tone that grows with speed to a wheel bearing. Good to know: Renault shares a lot of technology with Nissan, so parts for the Koleos often also fit the Qashqai and X-Trail. Replace in axle pairs, left and right together, and align after a control arm change.
