Brake discs & pads
Brake discs and pads per axle, individually or as a complete set — sometimes even including the wheel bearing hub. For the BMW 1 and 3 Series and X5, Audi A3/A6/A8, VW Golf and Transporter, Opel Astra and Zafira, Ford Transit and Focus, Renault Trafic, Hyundai i10 and Kia Picanto, among others. Select by disc diameter (e.g. 241 mm or 282 mm) and OE number for a guaranteed fit.
Replace discs and pads together?
As a rule of thumb, brake pads last twice as long as one set of discs. If the disc is at or below the minimum thickness (stamped on the disc edge), you can feel a distinct lip on the outer edge, or the steering wheel vibrates when braking, replace the discs and pads together — new pads on worn-in discs brake poorly and start to squeal. Always work in axle pairs and bed the brakes in gently for the first 200 kilometres, without emergency stops, so the friction material beds properly onto the disc. Grease the caliper slide pins and check the brake fluid reservoir level after fitting.
