Camshafts
The camshaft determines when and how far the valves open, making it decisive for the character of the engine. In this collection you will find camshafts by engine code — such as the sets for the VW/Audi 1.9 and 2.0 TDI PD (038109101AH), intake and exhaust camshafts for the Audi 1.4 and 1.8 TFSI, Mini Cooper and Citroën/Peugeot 1.5 BlueHDi — supplemented by camshaft adjusters, position sensors, control valves and the timing and locking tools for BMW, VW/Audi, Volvo and Renault, among others.
Worn cam lobes? Replace the lifters as well
Wear on the lobes reduces valve lift, which you notice as a loss of power at the top of the rev range and sometimes as ticking noises. When fitting a new camshaft, always install new valve lifters or rocker arms: worn followers will otherwise destroy the new shaft in no time. Use assembly paste for the first start and keep the engine at raised revs for a few minutes to run it in. If you are working on the timing, use the correct locking tools for your engine code — you will find those here as well.
