From workhorse to sports model: each has its own wear pattern
A Pajero that tows trailers or goes off-road mainly wears wheel bearings and ball joints: watch for a droning tone that grows with speed and for play when rocking the wheel. On the Colt and Lancer it is more about dampers and mounts — bouncing after a speed bump or a clunk at the top of the strut gives them away. For the EVO there are complete damper sets that bring the sharpness back. Replace bearings, ball joints and dampers in axle pairs, left and right together, and align afterwards.
