Mazda CHRA / cartridges
The core assembly or CHRA cartridge is the rotating heart of the turbo: shaft, compressor wheel and turbine wheel, mounted and balanced in the bearing housing. If only this part fails — the most common turbo defect — your original Mazda turbo housing simply stays in place. In this collection you will find cartridges for the 2.2 Skyactiv-D of the Mazda 3, 6 and CX-5, the 2.3 MZR DISI turbo of the CX-7, the 2.0 diesel (RF5C) of the Mazda 5, 6 and MPV and the VJ26/VJ33 for the B2500 2.5 TD pick-up. On the Skyactiv-D, turbo damage often stems from fuel dilution of the oil, so check the oil level and change it generously. Choose by the OEM or turbo number of your old turbo, for example K0422-882 for the CX-7 MZR 2.3L.
