Mud, water and road salt: the enemies of your rubbers
A Land Rover that does what it was built for wears its suspension faster than the average passenger car. Check the control arm bushings and ball joints after every wet season: small cracks in the rubber let water and salt in, and then it goes downhill quickly. On the Discovery, a droning noise that grows with speed is often a front wheel bearing — available here in pairs. If a car with air suspension sags overnight, look at the compressor as well as the air springs. Replace dampers and bearings in axle pairs and treat mounting bolts preventively against corrosion.
