Land Rover CHRA / cartridges

A CHRA cartridge is the complete rotating part of the turbo — shaft, wheels and bearing housing as one balanced unit — with which you restore a worn charger without replacing the original housing. For Land Rover the range spans classic to modern: the 200Tdi/300Tdi and Td5 of the Defender, the 2.0 Di and TD4 of the Freelander, the 2.7 TDV6 of the Discovery III, the 3.0 SDV6 and 3.6 TDV8 of the Discovery and Range Rover Sport, through to the 4.4 SDV8 and the 2.0 of the Evoque. The TDV6 and SDV6 have two turbos; if you replace one cartridge, check the other side for play at the same time. Search by the OEM or turbo number of your old turbo, for example 452055-5004S for the Defender 2.5 TDI.
