Flapping or rattling noise under the bonnet?
Loose bonnet insulation and weathered cowl panels are a common source of flapping and wind noise: the material becomes brittle from engine heat and UV radiation and eventually sags onto the engine. Replacement is straightforward — the insulation is held by plastic push clips and the cowl panel clips in beneath the wiper arms. Do compare the OE number first, as saloon, touring and coupé each have their own variant. Order new clips at the same time; the old ones almost always break during removal.
