An Alfa should steer tightly and directly. If the rear of your MiTo knocks over speed bumps, first check the upper damper mounts: a well-known wear point that can be fixed for little money. Steering that has become vague on the 159 usually points to the front control arm bushings and ball joints — the complete kit replaces them in one go. If the car keeps bouncing or skips on cobblestones, the dampers themselves are due for replacement. Work per axle, left and right together, and align after a control arm change.
